An Artisanal and Eco-Friendly Philosophy

At Domaine Dambrun, we believe that the quality of a wine is determined above all by the respect shown to the vines and our terroir. We practice certified organic viticulture.

Key Stages in Crafting Our Wines

We have chosen a chemical-free viticulture and a "low-intervention" approach in the cellar, prioritizing artisanal methods:

1. Hand-harvesting

At Domaine Dambrun, the entire harvest is picked by hand. This is a choice driven by quality. We sort the grapes twice: first during picking and again at the cellar. We use small baskets and crates to preserve the integrity of the fruit , ensuring healthy, high-quality grapes reach the press.

2. Natural Fermentation

Fermentation occurs naturally without the use of added yeasts. It takes place in truncated wooden vats, which allow for a gentle extraction that respects the fruit.

3. Aging

Our wines are aged in concrete tanks, 6hl demi-muids, 25hl foudres, and stainless steel vats. This diversity of vessels allows us to preserve the identity of each wine while enhancing its expression and potential.

4. Blending

The careful blending of our different grape varieties defines the personality of our wines.

Co-fermentation is at the heart of our expertise. By blending the varieties from the very beginning, we seek a natural balance. At the end of the aging process, final blending creates wines of character - true to their terroir and defined by their freshness.

Domaine Dambrun offers a true vigneron’s wine that expresses the full diversity of our soils and grape varieties.

Building on these encounters, their precious experience, and their dedication, Patrick and Laurence Chêne have cultivated a thriving vineyard with a strong identity and a philosophy focused on exceptional terroir-driven wines.

Our Vision

Our vision of winemaking is rooted in a profound respect for nature. Every action and every choice we make aims to preserve the natural balance of our terroir and to magnify its expression in our wines. We firmly believe that excellence is born from what the vine chooses to give us in return for the respectful care we provide.

We favor an organic farming approach that honors the rhythms of nature and promotes winemaking without additives. Our friend Jérôme Bressy guided us during our first two years, helping to shape a philosophy entirely centered on the respect of the natural world.
